Blink Doorbell Backplate Replacement: Step by Step Process
To replace the backplate of the Blink doorbell, you will only need a screwdriver to replace it. Before you get started, make sure you have all the hardware from your Blink packaging readily available.
Step 1:
Choose the wall you want to mount the backplate. It is recommended to pick a spot nearly 40 to 48 inches high from the ground.
Step 2:
The Blink video doorbell is weather-resistant. The battery compartment door of the device ensures a watertight seal closes it securely until it clicks.
The backplate is used for mounting to a wall and does not impact weather resistance.
Place the template on the wall you want to set up the doorbell.
Step 3:
Drill a hole at the top and bottom positions. Only use the middle hole for uneven or small surfaces.
Step 4:
Remove the template. Align the backplate to the holes you drilled and use the included screws to manually screw the backplate to the wall. Don’t over-tight them.
Step 5:
Align the top edge of the video doorbell to the backplate at an angle so it aligns.
Push it firmly against the backplate until you hear and feel a click to confirm it’s in place and secure.
Do not worry if there is a gap between the doorbell and the backplate.
